How It Works

Veterinarian performs biopsy or surgery and freezes tumour tissue. - Step 2
Frozen tumour tissue is shipped to AIS using our dedicated courier. - Step 3
AIS manufactures a personalised vaccine. - Step 4
The completed vaccine is returned to the veterinarian for administration.

Can I submit tissue from outside Australia?
Yes, our import permit allows tumour tissue from dogs to be submitted from many countries.
How should tissue be collected?
Fresh tumour tissue should be frozen immediately after biopsy or surgery. A dice sized piece is required for the full 6 month treatment course. Up to 20 grams can be sent via our courier service under the current permit.
How much tissue is required?
Approximately 1 cm³ of viable tumour whenever possible. Maximum of 20 grams.
Can paraffin blocks be used?
No. This destroys the proteins required for cancer vaccines to work.
Can formalin-fixed tissue be used?
No. This destroys the proteins required for cancer vaccines to work.
How long does manufacture take?
Vaccines can be returned within weeks. Estimated 10-15 days pending shipping times.
